I have been looking for a small airplane to purchase. I have a question about top overhaul vs major overhaul. If an engine is at 2050 hours and has a top overhaul done instead of a full factory or overhaul to manufacture specs, what does that do to the TBO and what can you expect from that engine? What would you believe the reliability and life expectancy of that engine would be. Obviously many go well past the TBO on their engine and with oil analysis I know they fly a lot of hours past it. Thanks
