I'm currently flying a 76 Archer.
Love the airplane, except for the service ceiling, and climb rates. My missions is not very complicated, Angel Flights in the Seattle area. Want to carry about 500 lbs of passengers + luggage, with about 4-5 hrs of fuel.
Love archer for its cost of ownership, dispatch rate, and its easy to fly.
The Archer actually can carry 450 lbs of pax + luggage + pilots and full fuel.
I'm circling the drain on two airframes. The Cessna 182 (P model maybe), and the Dakota (early dakota model, mid to late 70's)
And I'm here to get some arguments for the Dakota over the 182 for my list of pro's / cons.
The budget is about $300k .. give or take a few $10k's .. -- for acquisition, retrofit to a nice glass panel for IFR (the works), and first year maintenance surprises.
