I have been shopping for a used saratoga for a few months now and found one that seems to check all the boxes, non-turbo, retractable gear, Garmin 530W/430W, digital engine monitor, basically new engine etc. BUT, it's missing some log books. The first ten years of them, however, it does have complete logs since 1992. It also had a gear up off field landing in 1983 where the bottom fuselage was replaced.

I know I can order records from the FAA. I think for how it's equipped it is priced aggressively due to the lost log books, and this plane will likely be my forever as long as possible plane. I've read a few topics regarding lost log books but wanted to hear some advice from here. Should I not even consider this? Anything else I can look into besides the FAA records? Pay for a much more thorough prebuy?

Thanks in advance! Sorry if this is in the wrong forum!
