Just got a quote on the Stratus ESG unit for my Challenger. For those curious, I asked for an out the door price. $4,516 is the number. This is to remove my KT 76, install the ESG and antenna, and mount my (already owned) Stratus 2S receiver. Although not cheap by any means, the price seems fair. What Im curious of, is, whether or not a garmin G5 can piggyback the ESGs WAAS source? Im due for IFR inspections in February, which is what prompted the thought of complying with the mandate.
Thoughts? This seems to be the best deal on the block to REPLACE a legacy transponder unit.
