What is the best trim setting for takeoff? I have the early overhead crank stab trim, and I know that the "indicators" are far from calibrated; but I usually use 1 full notch up at TO. I usually fly 200 to 300 pounds under gross. At this setting the plane is still a little hard to fly off the runway (at 60 to 70 mph, it still seems to stick and takes some reasonable back pressure to lift off, otherwise it stays down but gets squirely). However, this trim setting results (at these weights) in nearly a Vx climb. To get Vy or anything else I need a little forward pressure. Is this a normal setting and do others experience this same dynamic?
