So for the two years I've had my plane the prop has always stopped directly horizontal. I've been told this has to do with TDC and having everything aligned.

Recently it's started stopping at a 20 deg angle instead of perfect horizontal. I know this is really common as most planes you see are not perfectly horizontal; but why would it shift suddenly? Or is the most likely explanation that my AP shifted it when he was doing the annual and I didn't notice right away?
