All,

Looking at a new-to-me SR22 normally aspirated.

Here is the story as presented. Approximately 100 hours ago (300 TT), the owner cranked the engine with the tow-bar still attached. Prop-strike. Engine start was aborted before the engine fired.

The prop was replaced (He kept the prop for inspection).

Since the engine wasn't running, owner was given the option of just fixing the prop (he chose to replace) and ignoring the engine (his option). Since it was covered, the engine was rebuilt ($5000 cost to owner, insurance the rest).

Aircraft is still under warranty. Writing this, I would expect no issues with warranty if the service was done at a Cirrus center (I will confirm that, but since the plane would be grounded, probably had to be done local).

Do you all consider this detriment to the aircraft value?

Thanks

Charles
