Precautionary landing with 132 kg of cocaine on board

These two guys were smuggling the cocaine into Canada in some kind of Piper twin (can anyone tell from the photo?). They planned to fly non-stop from the Bahamas fuel stop to Windsor, Ontario (near Detroit), but had to make a precautionary landing in Ohio because of "mechanical trouble":

They must have been pretty strongly motivated not to land in the US, where CBP was bound to take a close look at the cargo when they showed up without an eAPIS authorisation and pre-arranged customs meet—it would be more than just get-home-itis. I'd love to see this story from the pilot's perspective in "I learned about flying from that" or similar. ;)
