Since I began flying a little over three years ago I have run into a good number of pilots, mechanics, AI/APs and CFIs, Some were really helpful and pleasant. But there are a vast number that are negative opinionated old goats, that will tell you everything that can't be done. Or if something can be done how everyone but themselves do it wrong and they are the only ones on earth that are capable and competent.
Those will go un-named but I am sure you all have met a few.
Tonight I would like to tell everyone of one of the positive ones. I first came to know this guy from right here on this forum. It turns out he lives less than a hundred mile from me. When asked, he always gave of his time and knowledge freely and in a positive way. He was one of those that brings a uplifting positive attitude to each answer he gives (even if you don't like the answer) He always offers what can be done rather than telling you only the negative and how it is not possible. He has introduced me to others that likewise were positive. Over the past few years he has offered parts that he had at a very fair cost or helped to locate one for me. Recently acting as an AP did some very good work at a fair and affordable price. Even going so for as to offer me get me back home till the work was finished.
That guy is Flyguydon. I won't post his last name as he may not want everyone to to know it, (and he does not know I am writing this) but Don is one of the good ones and I would like to publicly post that I appreciate his positive influence and now his friendship.
