Lance T-Tail Issues?

Been looking at PA-32 retracts. Have seen some internet stuff that refers poorly to T-Tails. Are there known undesirable characteristics for this aircraft? I'm IFR with 200 hours in logbook.

Turbo question - I live in midwest and don't fly over mountains, and I will not routinely be at max gross. Do turbo's offer advantages regarding flying over most weather (towering cumulous cells excluded)?
