I have a 1983 Piper Saratoga RT and occasionally (1 in 20 flights) the gear in transit light will stay lit after retraction and not turn off. I had the problem replicated on the ground and replaced the micro switch that controls the light. Everything worked great but after about 20 flights the problem has restarted. This is totally random. Any thoughts or similar experiences that might help me resolve this issue? The tests on the ground confirmed that the gear does retract fully and the micro switch for the hydraulic pump shuts off the hydraulic pump. There seem to be two separate circuits.... one for gear in transit light and one for hydraulic pump using separate microswitches off the nose gear.
