On a flight today my wife tried to raise the front passenger seat headrest and it basically lifted out of its socket with the two support posts. I am unable to get it to fall back into place, but am surprised there is no mechanism to hold it in 2 or 3 vertical positions.

Does anyone have any tips? I can get the pilot side in and out (no locking position on that side either) so I think with enough trial and error the passenger seat will fall back in. It goes it most of the way but won't fall the last 2 inches... As if a hidden pin is holding it.

It just seems like a weird design.
