Just wondering what people use for their cruise settings. I have been using the 65% MAP row from the visor settings at 2300 RPM and getting between 140-150 TAS. My friend, who I let fly the plan (he helps with hangar fees and other costs) flies at 2400 RPM and uses the 75% HP MAP for the given altitude. He's able to get 160+ TAS (non-turbo engine btw).

What is best for engine longevity or does it make any bit of difference? I would like to fly faster but I don't want to kill my engine either. Does the 65% vs 75% HP make any difference as long as you keep EGT's and CHT's in line?
