I have a 1966 Cherokee 140 that seems to be overcharging. The engine was just replaced with a 32 hour used unit. Yes....32 only hours. After only 10 mins of run time I now see acid coming out the overflow pipe under the plane. I'm wondering if the alternator was hooked up correctly? The main power output wire at the back of the alternator is obvious. However, the other small wire that hooks to the rear of the alt was a bit vague in terms of where it attaches. Does anyone know exactly where this wire hooks up? The plane sat apart for 3 months and I wonder if my tech has it hooked up correctly. I should note, however, that the gage seems to show normal output. Thanks!
