Decided this WE to clean the carpets:
1) Climb in the plane with cleaning foam can
2) Remove seats
3) Spray foam
4) Raise flap handle to spray carpet under
5) Put back handle to first notch to clean with sponge without taking it in the stomach (first notch so that the sponge has space below the handle)
6) Get out of the plane
7) Walk on the 10° flap
8) End up on my a..
Result of not having a post carpet cleaning check-list:
Flap return spring broken
Question: is this normal or just a side effect of a tired spring? The effort on the spring is not more than the one generated by the lever, it's just must faster...
The new spring is on order... but what if a friend borrowing the plane, just forgets the flaps at 10° and walks on them... will he just end up on his a.. or will the spring be broken? That would ruin a day (fortunately, it happened at my home airfield).
