Any good transponder suggestion?

After I purchased my new baby, I just know the australia government need all the aircraft change their transponder to Mode "S".
That mean I need to replace my Mode"C" transponder....
That's the painful cost to replace the new avionics..

On the same time, I asked my engineer he have some suggestion to me.

Option 1: Carry out installation of Mode-S Transponder to replace Narco $5267.00 plus GST

Option 2: Carry out installation of Mode-S / ADS-B Compliant solution $7417.00 plus GST

(Those all the australia dollor.)

So I just wanna know which brand provide the cheaper transponder to save the cost?
In fact, my baby just use for VFR, so it do not need the ADS-B compliant....

Or any can give me some good advise
Let say, what the brand or which transponder is suitable for my PA28-150...


(Obviously, I just want to buy myself and let my engineer to install...)
