Thought I'd run this but you guys, as I, my mechanic, and the Internets seem out of ideas:

The ammeter in my '77 Archer always reads high. Running with nothing but the field circuit live I read 35 amps. With everything but landing lights on, I read around 45. With either my taxi light or wingtip landing lights on, it goes to fill selection past 70 amps. Obviously I'm not pushing 70 plus amps. We can't find any loose connections or corrosion, so ... any ideas?
