Hi, I'm the process of purchasing a 1980 Saratoga. The engine was replaced in 1995 with a Lycoming rebuild from the factory. The logbook entry sticker from Lycoming says the replaced engine had 3,200 hours when they rebuilt it. Since the engine was replaced (20 years ago) there are about 1,200 hours on it. This was not the original engine as the original engine only had about 1,100 hours on it.
The engine logs are complete since the factory rebuilt engine was installed, and annuals have been kept current. The compression is all 78 or higher.
Lycoming says tbo is 2,000 or 12 years. The engine runs well.

Should I be concerned about the 20 years since overhaul?

Will this affect resale?

Should the price i pay reflect the 20 years since overhaul? If Yes, by how much?

Thanks In advance,

Mike
