In the last issue of Piper owner, there was a piece on VAL Avionics. I am unfamiliar with the company, but reading the article and reviewing their website. I like the idea of the INS 429 as a GPS backup system. The system has most of everything you would want for about 2K.

Does anyone have any experience with the INS 429 or VAL products in general?
