Started getting uncommanded wing drops with the A/P engaged. A little disconcerting as it was a new 55x (upgrade) install. Happily the problem was consistent and traceable on the ground, the problem turned out to be an ailing roll servo -- it was not part of the upgrade, and as it is 10+ years old, obviously not covered.

That fault resulted from the servo not responding to a voltage sent by the control head, the roll was just the normal eventual drift from center you will see when flying hands off. You could reawaken the servo by tapping on the DC motor, but that isn't very practical in the air!

He played with the brushes, jiggled the cords, etc. It has to go in for a servo overhaul. (sigh) The trim servo is brand new, but the pitch servo is similarly aged, so it might be an issue in the next few years.
