I am looking to replace the tow bar for my Lance since it didn't come with one when I bought it. I would love to be able to put it back in the rear compartment and utilize the brackets back there for it. On my recent visit to Sporty's, I was going to purchase the "Piper Retractable Gear Towbar" that they sell:

It seemed to be a decent item in person, so I asked to see if it would fit utilizing the existing brackets. At 35 1/2", it is just a bit too long to do this. I didn't end up purchasing it.

I have also seen this item available from Aircraft Spruce:

It's a couple inches shorter, but after measuring the width of the rear baggage compartment at the bulkhead where the brackets are (which comes in at about 31 1/2'), I'm not sure this one will work either.

Can anyone offer another option, or at least tell me what size the towbar is that came with their Lance (if it's the original)? There IS a part number that goes with it, 69975-002, but I'm not sure if it's worth it to pay $405 for it.
