Two questions, not sure if they're interconnected or not. My plane will [finally] be getting a much needed iFR upgrade before long, so just trying to get an idea what problem I'm dealing with first.

1. Old Heathkit belly strobe (self contained) was replaced about a little over a year ago after the previous one went out. It bleeds into the intercom, so I leave it off most of the time......very annoying. I assume it's a wiring shielding problem, but everything looks good to me, from what's visible where we simply undid the wiring from the old and plugged the new one in.

2. The overhead speaker works great, until any ANY sound activates the mic, which sets off the squeal (extremely high-pitched LOUD squeal, like mic/speaker inerference). It's "running through" a Narco Com 120 right now.

Will probably be getting two new navs and indicators, possibly also new audio panel (current panel is old Narco CP 125). While we're in the business, are these both simply wiring issues that can be taken care of at same time, or any other possible solutions?
