I was hoping someone with more experience can answer this question for me.
This is all pertaining to 1999 saratoga ii tc TIO-540 with EDM 730

I have done a ton of reading (including John Deakin) and understand most things about LOP operations but was looking for a little clarification regarding gaining speed back.

According to part 5 (of those fire-breathing turbos articles), HP can be roughly calculated by multiplying 13.7 x fuel flow in GPH. (13.7 x FF = HP) He states you can gain a little bit of your lost airspeed back by increasing the MP. So if for example I set myself up ROP to be "65%" power by the book, 28" and 2200 RPM. Then switch over to LOP operations, can I just add back MP say to 30-32" and stay at 2200 RPM (and adjust mixture as needed to keep CHT < 380) to get myself back to the airspeed I want?

So if i wanted 65% power LOP, I would set myself up for 13.7 x X = 195 (where 195 is 65% of 300 HP). Meaning I would put in any MP and any RPM I wanted as long as my LOP FF was 14.2 (at ~380 CHT)? Could I theoretically run at 35" and 22/23 RPM or am I then putting too much stress on my turbo?

Thanks!!
