Hope all is well. I'm finalizing quotes for an audio panel and Com upgrade and am looking for advice on 2 different Com options. I have chosen PS Engineering's PMA8000 BT and was looking at Garmin's GTR 225 as the backup Com. I presently use my 430 WAAS as the primary. One of the shops recommended that I consider Garmin's GNC 255A Nav/Com to interface with my backup CDI if possible. The question I have is there really value in considering the GMC 255A versus the GTR 225? I very rarely, if at all, use the CDI and the price difference between the 225 and 255A is considerable.
I appreciate everyone's insight.
