This is why I have the IFR rating. Flight from MI to New York yesterday for my wife's birthday weekend. After getting through the low cloud layers that would have prevented a VFR flight on our fuel stop at Youngstown Ohio, we got in between layers at about 9000 feet and were treated to this view. Was only actual IFR for about 30 mins during the flight at 7000 in the tops. It was a little bumpy in the tops at 7000 at about 10am but then requested a block altitude and settled in between layers for a very smooth flight into Albany. I love filing and flying IFR.
