Hey everybody,
While I was flying last weekend, I unfortunately came back to my 1967 piper comanche B with its middle antenna snapped (one of the coms). To be clear, the base is perfectly fine, but the shaft of the middle antenna was neatly snapped along its side. Duct tape actually solved the problem pretty nicely for the flight back.
I am curious to know what the price of repair for this should be. One mechanic is quoting me $500 for parts and labor, which seems pretty high when I can see the outside screws, and it should only need to have the shaft replaced.
Am I being overpriced, or underestimating the complexity of this job?
Thanks in advance!
