Plane Power AL12-C60 pulley size?

My alternator died and I asked my mechanic to replace it with a Plane Power AL12-C60.

He's telling me the old alternator used a 6" pulley, but the new alternator has an 8" pulley.

Since the PP install instructions say to use the existing belt, that might be a problem.

Anyone got any suggestions for how this works?
