We have had several Saratoga, Seneca and Arrows in our shop that have failed the emergency gear extension. We had one that had a gear failure and the shop replaced the engine, prop, cowl and repaired the sheet metal and yet when we did the gear extension they never fixed it! Change the gear downlock springs! Only $28 each from Chapparel air parts and very easy to do. We replace them on every annual if they look like they haven't been done for awhile. Cheap insurance. If your coming to Charleston SC give us a call and we can schedule it for you.
