Hello all,

Flew our '69 Cherokee 180 for the first time in a few weeks today and had a very different flight experience. Hoping someone here can help shed light or trouble shoot. First, some history: 500+ hours in the plane over 4 years ownership, many of which were flown solo in same loading configuration (approx 40lbs in rear baggage).

Preflight, startup, taxi and run-up all normal. Takeoff roll was normal and then up rotation, the nose shot up in the air. I had to apply nearly full nose down trim to climb at 95mph under full power. At 2400rpm cruise at 4500' I was within 1-2 turns of the trim wheel from full nose down trim. No other odd behavior. No noise or vibration, full elevator and aileron authority, etc.

Landed and looked in the tail empennage and saw nothing different - battery and ELT all latched down, cables all ok, etc. No slop in the stabilator or wings when lifted on the ground. Nothing I could visualize or feel as being different. But I know that plane and how it flies and that was odd. Odd enough to make me nervous to fly it again to see if it does it again. Would love to hear all thoughts or input.

Thanks
