Was flying a short cross country this weekend. Flew to an airport about 30nm away from my home airport to pick up a passenger and headed to a flyin. About half way into the flight to the flyin, I noticed my amp meter was showing 0. Was close enough to the airport where I picked up my passenger so I made the decision to return. My pax and I went to breakfast and I decided to try start up and return to my home airport. The plane started normally and the amp meter registered normally for the 30nm flight to my home airport.
I have two questions. What could have been the cause? Would it have been OK to cycle power in flight? I don't have an av master so I would have shut down all avionics first and then switched off the master and then switch it back on after a few seconds.
