Last spring while getting ready for the summer flying season I re-evaluated my off field land pack. As I in the NE, and commonly fly over mountain, etc. I have alway carried such a kit. But I alway kept it back in the bagage area of my Cherokee 180, I decided that may not be accessable when and if it is ever needed. I got a blaze orange back pack, a new 406 person locator with gps, and re-packed the whole kit, and than attached the pack to the bottem of the co-pilot seat. I also include in the kit and laminate instruction sheet with basic survival instruction. I know other people carry such equipment but I would like to learn about your planning for this most undesirable situatition.
