Just an example of how you might find chunks of metal in the screen/sump/filter but it does not always mean the thing is about to fall out of the sky.

I am OH an IO540-K1A5. The deflector in the sump had suffered some harmonic damage. It caused all the things that might keep you up at night to happen.

On a side note, this is on a new project for Flying Monkey and the OH was because it was at TBO and his purchase included his wanting it OH. He just bought it to make it into "his" plane. We have no real previous history, so any metal in places that would concern you...we were not aware of going in...
