My 1965 Aztec C model has a likely bad LH bendix magneto on the right hand engine. Long story short with the engine running when I shut off the RH magneto the engine wants to quit like the left mag is not putting out anything at all. Easy right? At the same time the switch for the suspected LH mag has lost its ground. Hmmm.....then I'm wondering if the starter vibrator could be bad as well.

So I have a couple questions. First, do grounds go bad often on this airframe in anybodies experience? Second, it's hard to believe that a ground on that left mag switch would keep that mag from firing once the engine is turning. And finally if that mag did **** itself could it ruin the starter vibrator through the p-lead that attaches to it? Oh and if the starter vibrator is bad what does anybody recommend to replace it with, maybe a mag booster?

Any help would be appreciated, bad thing to happen when I want to fly down to the reno air races the end of the week.
