Lake Michigan Picture from 5000 Feet, what is in the water?

Returning from meetings yesterday. Flight from Flying Cloud Airport to Home in MI. Flight was filed IFR at 5000 feet. Just beat the weather coming back home. Saw some patterns in the water off the shoreline of Wisconsin just would of Green Bay. Never seen anything like that before, anyone who flys in the area have any ideas?
