I flew my Cherokee 235 with an OAT of about -5F today. I'd preheated it overnight with a Reiff Turbo XP (under an engine blanket, prop cover on), so the EDM700 showed all cylinders in the 120F range and the oil around the same. In cruise at about 70% power, the oil temperature was slowing dropping, and got down to about 140 after 40 minutes or so. The cylinders were running between about 220 and 330 depending on power settings, climb, descent, etc.. With airplanes I'd owned previously, I used what is a very common practice around here - putting vertical strips of duct-tape about 1" wide to partially block the intake. I don't want to do that with the 235.. what do people do? Is there a kit or anything?
