I finally got around to trying synthetic vision on an actual ILS approach today. Very cool. Before picking up the glide slope, keep the track marker on the airport and zero pitch line. After the glide slope passes center, put the track marker on the end of the runway. I did that and the localizer and glide slope stayed spot on.

Thanks go out to Orest for this tip. It's a huge help in situational awareness while on the final approach course.
