Another question about my newly installed GTN 650.
I've been trying to practice LPV (WAAS) approaches. Something is configured wrong. I'll set up the approach, get the the IAF just fine, turn to the final course, with everything looking good. But when I hit the FAF, the indicator pops up an oblong message box where there should be a glidepath, containing the words "NO GP".
I've verified that the satellites are all in view, no RAIM warnings, nothing else obvious which would compromise the NAV functions. It's done this to me on multiple approaches, at diffrent airports on different days. Prior to the FAF, the unit believes it's in LPV mode.
One oddity: After hitting the IAF, the 650 displays the VNAV icon in the lower left of the screen. I've tried disabling VNAV, but it pops up anyway. VNAV shouldn't have anything to do with an LPV approach, but who knows?
I've spoken with my Garmin dealer, a buddy of mine who runs an avionics repair station, and Garmin tech support. Nobody is able to give any guidance of come up with any ideas as to what the unit is complaining about.
Has anybody seen anything similar? Got any wisdom to share?
Thanks in advance.
