Hi folks, I've got a 1964 140 with fuel leak and I pulled the tank out with my mechanic.

There looks to be some metal fatigue and cracking around one of the rivet lines and my mechanic says it's not a good candidate to try and just re-seal it (looks like someone has previously tried to hammer away at the rivets to try and get a better seal).

He suggested a salvaged tank would be the best way to go but we're both aware that not all are interchangeable as the screw holes might not line up.

Does anyone have experience with replacing their fuel tank with a salvaged one and how common is it for the holes not to line up? Is there a particular year that the holes changed locations or ? Any other suggestions?
