I'm an Android guy. I recently got an email from a guy in my local EAA group, an email special to subscribe to Fly Q for a low first year price "VFR and IFR".

However, it only runs on Ipad. Is it so much better than Avare (FREE) or Garmin (pricey) that it's worth me buying an Ipad? I would only use it for flying.

And I thought a portable device is not legal for IFR use?

Thanks for any comments.
