I have always used flight following with ATC to go from one airport to another. This weekend I would like to get flight following from VOR to VOR along a 4 point route and not land at an airport until I get back home. Does anyone have any experience with this? I am assuming this is acceptable with ATC but have have never done it so I am posting this question...
My plan is to start out at my home airport (KDYL) and fly north to a VOR with flight following to it. Then I want to head West to another VOR, again with flight following without losing my original flight following. I want to do this again by heading south without losing flight following and then finally back East to my home airport. I want to do all this without landing at an airport until I get back to my home airport.
My real question is what do I say when I contact ATC the first time when I leave my home airport? Do I let them know of my COMPLETE flight plan or just to the first VOR?
