I have not been up flying for almost a month... crazy I know... but here in So Cal we have the wonderful June Gloom that sets in form May to August it seams.. Low clouds, low visibility... hazy but somewhat smooth air.

With my BFR due, I finally got together with my CFI and planed to go flying last night.. The haze had been better the last few days, and I had hopes of going airport hopping and have some fun with crosswind landings, something I need more time with. Working on completing the BFR is also a must.

It looked like the clouds were coming in, but we hopped in and went up,, headed off the Corona from El Monte, and no go.. so was then going to Chino... was interesting to watch the clouds "pop" right in front of us at 2000 ft.. ok, head back, watching the cover roll in... headed north towards the 210 FWY and the modified approach to KEMT.. poured the coals to her and was seeing 160 mph... CFI liked the speed.. made it in before the airport went to MVFR...

So all that to say, Flying is FUN!.. yes it was only 20 minutes, Yes we did not get to go do what I wanted to do, crosswind landings, airspace navigation, but any time spent in the air is worth it...

Did have fuel leaking out the cap on the right side, found that the gasket had slipped out of position, and was not completely sealing that side. so the flight was good for something!..

I hope that this June Gloom will part ways for the weekend, so I can go fly somewhere for breakfast on Saturday... it has just been too long, and one needs airtime!...
