FAA medication list v. basic med cert.

now that we can choose to go with basic med certificate are we released from the restricted list of meds under the old rules? i specifically would like to go back to Invokana for my type 2 diabetes. it controlled my a1c levels better than amaryl which is a 20 + years old med that is somewhat outdated. anybody know the answer to this?
