when i reduce rpm after entering pattern on down wind for landing , engine runs very rough , like miss firing . Then at shut down engine diesels .
1) checked gas for water . ITS PERFECT
2) mag check is good
3) at cruise or climb out everything is perfect / climbs like a homesick angel
4) all gauge readings are good
5) carb heat checks good
i have put over 400 hrs on this archer ll ( A4M ) 0360
this has never happen in the past .neither in hot or cold weather .
mechanic did spray some white powder like stuff on back of engine ,
checking for oil leak ... discovered the pan gasket leaking at rear of engine
the white stuff is not on the mags or carb , just around the pan .
Thanks for any and all help . jim
