So..I'm on the practice area (about 20miles from the airport, Cherokee 140-28) with my CFI doing steep bank turns and all the sadden I see the ammeter at full range...the field breaker was up...I push it back in and after a few seconds the output pops up...no pushing in this time. Called tower, landed safely (we shut down as much as we could). Radio still was on.

The A&P checked and told me the alternator went bad and also destroyed the battery.

So my question for you is...can the voltage regulator be ok? The A&P says it's ok but I have some doubts.

Alternator...gone
Battery...gone
Voltage reg...ok

Is this possible?

Thanks!
