The tachometer in my Arrow has been suspect for quite a while and is no longer accurate or steady. I have considered having it overhauled, but the expense and time required makes it almost a wash to just go electronic.

I used to have a Horizon electronic tachometer in my C172. The pros were that it was accurate, easy to read, and gave the status of both magnetos with warning lights. The cons were that it had a bright LCD display that did not dim at night and was a distraction. This was 18 years ago so it may be improved now.

I have seen the E.I. tachometer and my impression from the picture is not positive because of its size.

Does anyone know of any other, outside of an expensive all in one engine monitor? (I already have the EDM 700 and love it...)

Eric
