I am a software developer and also a new pilot. I just purchased a 73 Challenger and started going through all of the logbooks and started looking for an online solution. I found a couple but they were geared toward large organizations. I was thinking of developing a web site for electronic logbooks for the average plane owner that is reasonably priced. We would scan the log pages into the system and index them into a database making all entries searchable by phrases, category or subcategory. We would also backup the images and store a copy in a vault just in case the logbooks were lost or destroyed along the lines.

Does this sound like something that would be worth while?

How much would be a reasonable amount to charge for converting the logbooks?

How much would be reasonable for a yearly/monthly fee?

I would appreciate your feedback on this. Maybe there is already something out there and I just did not find it.
