... the other quadrant controls make believe that you are piloting a boat.
Which brings to mind a question I have had for a long time. In the USA aircraft and road vehicles are driven from the left, but a boat from the right. Why the boat from the right?

As regards the control quadrant thing. I never thought about it before this thread, but the quadrant takes up a lot of space in the cabin, and considering vernier controls, it is not really necessary.

If one were to convert a Cherokee from quadrant to vernier controls how would the quadrant be removed and finished? Anyone have photos?
