While helping a friend redo the interior in his Arrow IV, we discovered that the battery in the remote switch for his ELT (ACK-01) had expired in 2011. The battery powers a lamp on the panel that lights when the ELT is activated. My ELT (ACK-04) also requires a separate battery to power an audio warning when the ELT is activated. IAs may not be aware of these batteries so be sure to log replacement and expiration dates as a reminder.
