I have a 1974 Warrior PA28-151, and am confused by the power and performance charts in the information manual. It shows performance charts for "best power" and another for "best economy" at various "power" settings. Best I can figure, you determine % engine power by looking at RPM. Then it describes air speed and range at "best power" and separately at "best economy" at various % engine power settings, 55%, 65%, 75% etc. for each. Both have chart headers indicating that the engine is leaned per Lycoming instructions. So how do you differentiate best power and best economy as the leaning procedure is exactly the same for both??? How do you set for "best power" or "best economy"? I' confused! Anyone able to help me?
