To continue on my saga of the stance of the aircraft I got a mechanic out (after waiting 8 days),
He tries to inflate the right strut, has me stand under wing and lift, something like 300PSI+ he has to put into it, It's now way too high, he grumbles saying that is the best it's going to get, I insist he let some air out. Crawls under it and using a file deflates the strut and manages to trash the schreader value letting all the air out. Strut collapses.
He has no scharader valves. So I order... another week goes by and I get it back. Now right is showing 3 inches of chrome and left is showing 4 inches. Sigh.... but at least I have my plane back.
Fly a few times, all is well. Today I do a greaser at the end of the day (gentle set down), and as I roll out I am leaning to the right. Strut totally collapsed... no chrome showing. No prop strike or any bad noises but I'm down and out again.
Couple questions:
1. Likely a strut rebuild? Did one once when I got the plane, but I figure the 300+ PSI he applied may have caused some damage. Kit is cheap
2. Find a new AP? I'll need to bring someone in, but I'm not sure I should keep going back to the local guy. Little Aztec experience.
